HOST HOME TOOLKIT
Welcome to Avenues Host Home Program Toolkit!
The materials we offer here have been developed, tested, adapted, revised, used and shared for 20 years. We started the GLBT Host Home Program in 1997 thanks to what we learned from other communities. And we are happy to continue sharing what we have learned with you.
Feel free to use and adapt our resources to meet the needs of your community. We appreciate acknowledgement wherever appropriate. And remember – Avenues takes no responsibility for your programs and how you use what you find here.
Avenues’ host home programs are a community and volunteer-based approach to providing housing to youth ages 16-24, while also building community and resources. Avenues operates three host home programs: GLBT Host Home Program, ConneQT Host Home Program, and BIPOC Host Home Program. Below you will find materials and information on all three, as well as sample forms for the GLBT Host Home Program, our longest running program. We hope these are helpful! Feel free to use and change them to meet the needs of your community.
