Rain could dampen our spirits on Friday September 9th, as a dedicated group from Xcel Energy braved the weather (and thunder) to help landscape the grounds at our Minneapolis Avenues location. The Xcel staff put on their rain slickers and got to work with weeding, mulching, apple picking, and even mowing (yes, mowing in the rain!).
Xcel has been an incredible partner to Avenues over the years, but Friday’s day of service shows the lengths they will go to make sure the Avenues house feels like a home to the youth staying there. Thank you to Jane for taking the lead, to Nick for showing up to this project every year, to Chelsea for sharing her incredible story, and to everyone else that worked so hard with so much positivity.
