To recognize and celebrate National Coming Out Day, the dedicated team at Synchrony Financial came over to Minneapolis Avenues to not only talk about the importance of coming out of the closet, but also literally helped clean one out.
For three hours the Synchrony team helped clean out, inventory, re-categorize and re-organize a supply closet that was badly in need of a loving touch. Synchrony helped created a system so that Avenues program staff can easily and quickly grab supplies needed for the youth living just upstairs.
To cap off the day, Synchrony hosted a special lunch and learn over Zoom featuring a speaker from Avenues for Youth talking about the disproportionate rate of homelessness amongst LGBTQ youth, and how Avenues responds with the ConneQT Program.
The team also provided the lunch, not only for themselves and the youth, but the entire Avenues staff! A delicious day with a dedicated partner. Thank you!
