Over the last several weeks the Pride ERGs at Boston Scientific (in Maple Grove and Arden Hills) have gone above and beyond in partnership with LGTBQI+ youth experiencing homelessness and provided direct supports to the ConneQT program.
The Pride ERGs hosted a joint “Lunch and Learn” zoom call with 68 participants to learn about the disproportionate rates of homelessness amongst LGBTQI+ youth (as high as 40%). They also hosted two in-kind drives, collecting over 20 books for a special LGBTQI+ youth library (on topics like coming out and affirming trans identity) and collecting 16 binder wraps for trans youth.
An additional financial donation drive grossed over $2,500 to further support these efforts. Special thanks to Scott and Katherine for leading this incredible engagement. Avenues for Youth is so proud to have Boston Scientific as a community partner.
