Our friends at Target put together move in kits for youth in Avenues’ Young Families program. Youth will receive new linens, diapers, laundry supplies, and much more thanks to Target’s generous contribution!
Approximately 35% of youth experiencing homelessness have children of their own and there is a lack of shelter space for young parents and their little ones. The Young Families uses a rapid re-housing model to provide safe, affordable, and supportive housing for parents ages 18 to 24 and their children. Through this program, families receive intensive, holistic supports based on their needs including rent subsidies, health and wellness care, and financial education. With these supports, young families achieve housing stability, improve their wellness, and gain independent living skills.
