On June 1st, North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) graciously hosted Avenues for Youth’s Ryan Berg, Program Manager for the ConneQT LGBTQ in-home host program. Ryan presented on the disproportionate rates of homelessness amongst LGBTQ youth, 120% higher than their hetero peers, and what we as a community can do to confront the issue and engage the youth.
NHCC has been an incredible community partner, raising awareness and funds for Avenues. The presentation was attended by the DEI staff, as well as the college president! Thank you to NHCC for the spotlight on this issue as well as the generous payment to Avenues.
