On Sunday May 21st, The Pilgrim House community welcomed Avenues for Youth to lead a “Pride Chat” conversation about LGBTQI+ youth homelessness. Over 400+ laws have been introduced over passed across 21 states that specifically target the LGBTQI+ community, and trans and non-binary youth in particular. This ugly political and cultural assault is increasing rates of youth suicide and homelessness.
Pilgrim House stands in solidarity with the LGBTQI+ community and is attempting to create safe and affirming spaces. In order to beat back the tide of hate and repression, we will need more faith-based partners like Pilgrim House to extend the principles of inclusivity and acceptance.
