A group from Optum and Allina Health came together to assemble 50 basic needs kits for youth using the Emergency Bed at Avenues shelters. These kits contain essentials like shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and socks. Both Brooklyn and Minneapolis Avenues housing have “Emergency Beds” for a youth only needing to stay a night. Youth are provided a clean bedroom and bathrooms, laundry facilities, a hot and nutritious meal, clothing, and are connected to other resources.
We are so grateful for community partners like Optum and Allina Health who help ensure that youth have a safe space to navigate their path out of homelessness.
